Job Alert: Transportation Specialist – ITS Joint Program Office (U.S.Dept of Transportation) @ Washington, DC
The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO) is looking for a Transportation Specialist to serve as program manager and technical expert responsible for the development and direction of the Multimodal ITS Research and Deployment portions of the Department’s ITS program.
The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communications skills, expertise in ITS research and development topics, such as highway operations, transit, and ITS deployment. The incumbent will work closely with the highway, motor carrier, rail, and transit industries to promote ITS initiatives and with the ITS community to ensure that multimodal systems operations needs are being accommodated. The incumbent will champion the capabilities and interests of the ITS community, often to a constituency that is not knowledgeable about or sympathetic to its needs. In this capacity, the incumbent works to increase consensus building among its partners and work towards meeting National ITS program goals and objectives related to the deployment of ITS solutions.
